I ate here several times during my stay in Hong Kong. I can see why people wait and queue to be seating. Very friendly and helpful owner, good menu selection, and tasty food. My noodle soup could have fed a small family of four. 😂 I was very tasty, so I tried to finish it, but easily left half a bowl of noodles. The owner speaks English, but the menu is easy to follow.
Service, ambience, food is, awesome. The pork cutlet is a must try! Tofu is, crispy yet very soft inside without being too oily, mushroom is marinated, soft and succulent!
This restaurant delivers filling yet uninspiring fare. Overwhelmed by popularity, the kitchen prioritizes speed over quality. The fried pork steak pales in comparison to renowned Japanese versions, suffering from dryness. Noodles are undercooked, and the soup lacks depth, tasting merely of water and flour. The dumplings are mundane, reminiscent of wet market offerings. At HK$51, it's affordable for a one-time solo visit, but not noteworthy enough to recommend to friends.
Always on the hunt of down to earth Shanghainese restaurant and this place didn’t disappoint. Recommend wonton noodle with fried pork rib. The noodle is firm the way I like it. Wonton filling is very fresh judging by the color of the pork and veggie. Adding some hot sauce will be a good way to spice it up. Also tried fried tofu - not bad - remember to dip in the hot sauce too.
Long queue but it’s fast.
Price is cheap.
Food decent.
Must try is their fried tofu. Must add their chilli sauce.
Super friendly owners and good price value. But I think the food is a bit overrated.
👍: crispy and tender pork chop; huge dumplings; soy milk
😕: way too salty
I'm giving five stars because what you get for the very reasonable price is truly competitive. The dumplings are super tasty and their signature dish is a must to try. It's a great spot to have some good dinner after work without the need to overspend. There are quite a few healthy options too!
The bok choy and cabbage can be ordered without stir fry or sauce and they are $18 each. We got three and then got two pork chops, rice and a dumpling amongst us. Wow. This was amazing. We will be back.
